Baraka Women’s Group brings together eight determined women from Nairobi, each contributing her own talents and dreams. Teresia Njora, the group’s president, draws on her skills in beauty, sales, and farming while seeking digital tools and education to grow further. Damaris Njeri applies her business sense from selling tea leaves with the ambition of running a thriving enterprise. Rose Nyanjiru, their treasurer, combines her strengths in sales, cooking, and driving to support her vision of business growth. Wanjiru Ngigi, the secretary, brings entrepreneurship and leadership skills, determined to overcome financial hurdles. Elizabeth Wanyonyi Naliaka, the group’s facilitator, shines in jewelry-making and table banking, with a dream of expanding her shop to employ others. Ellys Mirungu adds creativity through beadwork, cooking, and farming, aspiring to expand her craft despite limited funds. And Carrie Mbatia uses her energy as a marketer and financial mobilizer, with ambitions to break into larger ventures if given the right backing. Together, they weave their skills, aspirations, and resilience into a shared journey of empowerment, proving that when women join forces, they transform both their own lives and their community.
